Hypnotherapy helps to treat problems by accessing the unconscious mind where past experiences and associated emotions are stored. Hypnotherapy is a very effective tool for fears, phobias and stress, and change can happen quite rapidly.
The Hypnotherapist will discuss with you the issues and associated feelings you would like to address and will then take you to a relaxed state - similar to the state you are in just before sleep - in which you can access your unconscious mind. Under Hypnosis your unconscious mind will absorb positive suggestions that are aimed at improving your life by changing the way you react to certain stimulae. You will never do anything that you would not agree to in your waking state. When you open your eyes you will feel refreshed, alive and invigorated.

The number of sessions you will require depends on the issue you wish to address. For fears and phobias - for example a fear of flying or a phobia of creepy crawlies - then only 2 or 3 sessions would be the norm. For weight loss it can take up to 3 or 4 sessions and to stop smoking will generally take 2 sessions.
